Laurence Robertson was a County Councillor for Delting South between 1907 and 1913.

Biography

In his early days, Laurence went to sea but met his future wife on a visit home and decided to leave the sea and focus on farming in Setter. His agricultural work was extensive, including the rearing and dealing of sheep, cattle and ponies. He took over the farm in Kergord and later in Berry, Scalloway. His wife, Margaret, mainly ran the Berry operation while Laurence focussed on Setter. Later, the couple reduced their holdings to just the Setter estate.

His work with animals gave him a degree of veterinary knowledge, and he was called upon often for animal health questions by his neighbours.
