John Robertson Irvine was a County Councillor for Dunrossness South from June 1919 until December 1919, and 1925 to 1931. He failed to get re-elected at the 1919 County Council election, but was elected to serve the Dunrossness North constituency from 1925 until he resigned in 1931.

Biography

John was the Principle of Messrs Alex Irvine and Sons, builders and contractors. At a boy he served his time with his father as a joiner in the family business. He worked for some time in Edinburgh before returning to join his father and brothers in the business. The firm built homes and several schools.
