Tavish Hamilton Scott is a farmer and the Scottish Liberal Democrat Member of the Scottish Parliament for Shetland, a post he has held since 1999. He was also previously a Shetland Islands Councillor and led the Scottish Liberal Democrats from 2008 until 2011..

Biography

Tavish was the first of two children born to John Scott and Wendy (neƩ Ronald). He was born in Inverness, educated at the Anderson High School in Lerwick before going on to do a BA (Hons) in Business Studies at Napier College in Edinburgh. After graduating, he worked as a parliamentary assistant to MP Jim Wallace, then as a Press Officer for the Scottish Liberal Democrats before eventually returning to Shetland where he became a farmer and a Shetland Islands Councillor.
