Robert Jamieson was a sub-postmaster and County Councillor for Sandness between 1925 and 1928.
Biography
On leaving school, Robert joined Messrs T. M. Adie & Sons in Voe. When Robert Coutts retired from the Ha' shop in Sandness, Robert took over the premises, forming Robert Jamieson & Sons. In addition to being the Postmaster for the area, Robert was also the Registrar of Sandness. In the 1920s, he purchased a large sheep farm at Teagon in Voe where he successfully built up the business of Jamieson & Pole, also becoming Postmaster of Voe. In business he was one of the early adopts of cars sales and hiring in Shetland.
