George William 'Dodie' Morrison (b. 9 February 1921, Weisdale, d. 30 January 1989, Lerwick was an auctioneer and County Councillor for Sandness between 1970 and 1973. He was a 3rd cousin to Lerwick shop owner and councillor Alex. He unsuccessfully contested the 1960 Walls by-election, the Whiteness & Weisdale seat at the 1973 County Council election and the Whiteness, Weisdale & Tingwall seat at the inaugural Shetland Islands Council election in 1974.

Biography

George lived his entire life in Weisdale, and grew up with socialist political convictions. His abiding interest was agriculture, who bred sheep, supported the Shetland flock book supported the Shetland Wool Growers Cooperative. He was involved in the Shetland branch of the National Farmers Union from its early days in the 1960s.

He was an auctioneer who specialised in sheep sales
