Reverend Adam Thomson was a minister for the Church of Scotland and a County Councillor for Nesting between 1945 and 1949.

Biography

Adam spent some time in Baltasound and Lunna. After leaving Shetland around 1950, he went the St Andrew's Scots' Kirk in Saint George's, Grenada. In 1955, he returned to Scotland for a brief period before accepting an assistantship at Knox Crescent and Kensington Presbyterian Church in Montreal as he wanted to study for admission into the Presbyterian Church in Canada. He studied evening classes at McGill University and by 1960 he was formally inducted into the Presbytery of Ottawa. By 1964 he preached at the St. Andrew's Presbyterian in Hagarsville.

He returned to Shetland in 1966 and 1972 to be a guest preacher at the Lunna Kirk.
