John Small was a solicitor and County Councillor initially for Yell South between 1892 and 1895 then Nesting between 1895 and 1910. He unsuccessfully contested the Nesting seat in the 1910 County Council election.

Biography

Small was a solicitor who practised in Lerwick between 1889 until his retirement in 1939. He had graduated the University of Edinburgh in 1880 as a Bachelor of Law. He had been a manager of St. Ringans Church and was a treasurer for over 30 years. He also had a long connection with the Shetland Literary and Scientific Society.
