George William Hoggan (or Hogan) was a solicitor in Lerwick and a County Councillor for Yell South between 1910 and 1919. He unsuccessfully contested the 1919 County Council election.
Biography
George was elected in 1904 to the Bonnyrigg Town Council, and re-elected in 1907. He arrived in Shetland in the summer of 1908, having acquired a legal practice in Shetland.
In June 1908, he was appointed as secretary and treasurer of the Zetland Unionist Association.
In WWI, he was in the Anson Battalion and he was stationed in Aldershot and Chatham.
