Andrew Dishington Clark was a justice of the peace and a County Councillor, representing Aithsting first between 1921 and 1922, then later 1932 to 1945. He unsuccessfully contested the Aithsting & Sandsting seat at the 1922 County Council election and for Aithsting at the 1945 County Council election.

Biography

Andrew was educated in Yell and left aged 14 to work in a shop in Camb. He later emigrated to America and sailed on the Great Lakes for some years, before returning to Britain.

He continued as a merchant seaman until he joined his uncle, James Clark in the business of Clark & Company, Aith, and worked in that business for half a century.
