John Leslie was a general merchant, hosiery dealer and County Councillor for Aithsting and Sandsting between 1922 and 1925 (as the two counties were joined by the council), then from 1925 to 1928, he represented Aithsting solely. His brother in law James A. Smith was also a Councillor.
Biography
John started a business in Lerwick after WWI, but temporarily closed it in order to travel the world. He visited New Zealand, Australia and America on his trip before returning.
