Peter Anderson was a butcher at Globe Butchers and a County Councillor for Whiteness And Weisdale from 1904 until his death in 1914. He unsuccessfully contested the 1904 Lerwick Town Council election.
Biography
He began work as a house builder before becoming a butcher. He was one of the most prominent local cattle and pony deals in Shetland and was largely instrumental in forming the Pony Stud Book Society. He exported ponies as far as America. Upon his death, Convener Ganson said that almost every crofter in Shetland would miss his presence.
