Robert 'Bob' Strachan was a Post Office Engineer, a County Councillor for Burra and a Lerwick Town Councillor between 1959 and 1962. He unsuccessfully contested the 1953 and the 1961 Lerwick Town Council election.
Biography
In 1963, he was Shetland's Civil Defence Officer, and served four years. He then took up a role with the Orkney County Council as development assistant, and performed the same duties for Caithness in the mid 1970's. In 1974, he took up a new job in a private industry in Caithness.
